Welcome to our new St Ayles forum!
This is an independent forum and not run by the Scottish Coastal Rowing Association but we hope that it can be a valuable resource for SCRA members and clubs and anyone interested in building and rowing the St Ayles Skiff. We hope builders and rowers will exchange ideas, offer help to each other and promote open discussion on all aspects of the St Ayles. The opinions expressed here are those of forum members but if anyone wants to have a direct answer on any point on behalf of the SCRA committee they should email the secretary. With the growing popularity of the St Ayles worlwide and many kits now being ordered and built outside of Scotland the forum could provide something like the help provided by pioneering clubs to each other here in Scotland where neighbouring clubs visited back and forth with advice on builds, making trailers and all manner of things in the special social aspect that has always been at the heart of St Ayles Skiffing. Hopefully as evidenced by the visiting teams at this years Worlds Skiff Championships in Ullapool this will continue as the class spreads further across the globe. The continued success of the St Ayles is in no doubt as it has captured the hearts and minds of so many people in such a short time and this is due both to its concept of community involvement and its excellent design, hopefully with your involvement this forum can help an even broader community You can view the forum as a guest but please register to post threads or comments.

Fantastic, just what I was looking for and allready quite useful for the oar designs, as we are in need of something more useable than the sticks from the worlds.
Cheers

Just about ready to launch here in Oregon. Added fore and aft compartments for flotation to make an "expedition" St. Ayle's. My retirement begins with a trip down the Sea of Cortez.
Best,
Dean

Thanks to whoever's admin here... I'm on now. Looking forward to getting help and sharing whatever I can.
Quick question if I may? (Let me know if there's another place for admin questions) - How do I set notifications, so that I get an email when there's a post/reply on a board?

If you click on the help tab you can get a lot of info on how to use the forum...this is a sample re notification............ The forum software allows you to receive notifications on the forum with the built-in notification system, as well as receive notifications via email if you choose to do so. To setup your forum notifications, as well as to view which types of notifications are available, click the Profile button found in the top menu bar of the forum, and then click the Edit Profile button on your profile page. You'll then be taken to the Edit Profile & Settings page; once here, click on the Notifications tab. cheers.

Thanks! Maybe I'm missing something - is there a way to receive notification of a new post (or reply) on a board? Or to simply Follow a board? I can see how to receive notification of a reply and that's worked fine for your reply here.

Hi Jon, if you select the board, say Seats and Footrests for example and click on the actions button on the right hand header, a drop down will appear and clicking on Bookmark should then give you notification of any post to that thread.
